DJI announces new Osmo Pocket 3 gimbal camera with rotating screen

DJI has taken the wraps off of the new Osmo Pocket 3 gimbal camera that comes with a one-inch CMOS sensor, a rotating two-inch screen, and new AI smarts.

The Osmo Pocket 3, available to order today, has gotten a host of new upgrades over the second-generation model. Starting with the new one-inch CMOS sensor.

This larger sensor can capture video at up to 4K resolution and 120 frames per second. It also supports improvements to low light alongside 10-bit D-Log M and 10-bit HLG HDR color modes.

"With the Osmo Pocket 3, we've reimagined handheld imaging, offering users a creative tool that combines precision and portability like never before," said Paul Pan, DJI's Senior Product Line Manager. "We're eager to witness the incredible stories and moments our users will capture with this remarkable camera."

The screen used for control was upgraded, now a two-inch OLED touchscreen to operate the camera with ease.

Subjects are tracked with the new ActiveTrack 6.0 that has multiple follow modes such as Dynamic Framing and Face Auto-Detect.

DJI has many other enhancements for the latest generation of its pocket gimbal camera. More software enhancements relying on AI, the ability to move between portrait and landscape shooting, and plenty of new accessories.

The new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is available starting today for $519. There is also a creator combo for $669 that includes additional accessories like a DJI Mic 2 transmitter, a battery handle, a mini tripod, and a carrying bag.
